DESCRIPTION:WURK and DB Orchestra Present: \n\n\n\nWURKestra\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets:\n\n\n\n\n\nGA Advance: $30 | Day of Show: $40 \n\n\n\n\nYou may purchase tickets in advance online\, by phone\, or free of convenience fees at one of our ticket outlets listed HERE. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEntry:\n\n\n\n\nBox Office: 6:30 PMGA Doors: 7:00 PMShow: 8:00 PM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWURKestra\n\n\n\nAfter 10 years of touring the Midwest as a funk-fusion band\, Wurk is preparing its most ambitious project yet as its capstone.  In collaboration with the DB Orchestra\, a 17-piece big band loaded with trumpets\, trombones\, and saxophones plus percussion and sousaphone\, Wurk will be presenting the WURKestra for a limited run of concerts in the fall.  The first event will be hosted in Madison at the historic Barrymore Theatre on Friday\, October 16th.Voted the 2019 and 2022 MAMA Artist of the Year by Madison music lovers\, Wurk is known for their wide range of influences including funk\, progressive rock\, pop and jam band.  The DB Orchestra has similarly been blending genres such as jazz swing\, doo-wop\, Dixieland and rock ‘n’ roll for over a decade.  Daniel Haschke\, saxophonist and member of both groups\, noticed how both projects took an innovative approach to arranging music and decided there was something special to be explored.  “I’ve always been inspired by unique musical collaborations\,” Haschke reflects\, “especially when popular artists work with big orchestras.  I realized that all of the pieces were in place for me and my bandmates to craft a truly one-of-a-kind experience.”The full WURKestra presentation will debut on Friday\, October 16th\, 2026 at the Barrymore Theatre\, then tour the following weekend to venues in Milwaukee and Appleton.  Concertgoers can expect over two hours of bold and brassy interpretations of Wurk originals\, innovative reimaginings of popular covers\, and pieces original to the WURKestra.  Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 day of show.  Doors open at 7pm and the show begins promptly at 8pm at the Barrymore Theatre. \n\n\n\nWurk is a 6-piece funk-fusion group which formed in Madison\, WI in 2016.  Inspired by Umphrey’s McGee\, Snarky Puppy\, Lettuce\, Phish and many others\, their innovative original songs and ambitious interpretations of popular covers offer an impressive blend of jazz fusion\, prog rock\, jam rock and more\, all with the consistent underlying grooves of funk.  The DB Orchestra\, led by Andy Kerber\, combines the nuanced harmonies of a doo-wop group\, the intensity of a marching band\, and the flair of great jazz ensembles of yesteryear.  With a roster of nearly 20 musicians\, the hot horns\, smooth saxes\, and driving drums of the DB Orchestra will keep your head humming and toes tapping long after the show’s over.

Zach and Jess are currently developing TV and Film projects with Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions\, David Wain (The State\, Role Models\, Wanderlust) and Elizabeth Banks’ Brownstone Productions. They also created and starred in Serious Music\, a digital series for ABC.  Their improvised musical podcast Off Book has been praised by various online publications including Indie Wire\, USA Today\, Parade\, AV Club and Splitsider and been featured at Comedy Central’s Clusterfest Festival\, Moontower\, the world renowned Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal\, and the Netflix Is A Joke Festival in LA. Griffin and Drummond comprised the core of the band at its onset as they hit the road and won over one fan at a time beginning in 1989. This fan base would go on to be known as “Ezralites” by the time the first pressing of Deluxelanded independently in 1993. As the audience dramatically grew\, Elektra signed the boys in 1995 and officially released Deluxe. A fixture on radio and MTV\, “Good” captured #1 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks Chart and went multi-platinum. 1996’s Friction\, Baby yielded definitive anthems such as “Desperately Wanting” and “King Of New Orleans.” A string of fan favorite albums followed\, including How Does Your Garden Grow? [1998] and Closer [2001]. \n\n\n\n2005’s Before The Robots represented another creative high. The four members of the Beth Kille Band – Michael Mood (bass\, backing vocals)\, Tony Kille (drums)\, Michael Tully (guitar\, backing vocals) and Kille herself (guitar\, mandolin\, vocals) – have amassed some impressive accolades. In addition to the numerous songwriting recognitions\, Kille grabbed one of her 30 Madison Area Music Association (MAMA) Awards when she was named “Artist of the Year” in 2010 and Tully snagged the highly-competitive “Guitarist of the Year” Award in 2014. Their style can best be described as Americana-Rock but these dynamic performers can play everything from folk to funk to in-your-face rock. \n\n\n\nTAE & The Neighborly (DUO)Tae & The Neighborly\, a Wisconsin based Soul-pop R&B group\, found themselves playing music together in a very unconventional way. They were all neighbors\, each one living alone on one floor of a five-story flat. Cake baking is a shared passion of the five member group\, but in the sugar shortages early in the 2020 pandemic\, they found themselves so continually knocking on each other’s doors asking for a single cup of sugar that a group decision was made to all move in together and share cake-baking resources. And since everyone knows all good rhythms begin in the kitchen\, it wasn’t before long that the group began to write and perform together  across the nation. Critics hail the group as “having more kick than a bagged-up mule” (Rotary Times)  and their live show “…going down smoother than a can of [beans] warmed on the campfire” (Cowboy Gazette). All in all\, if you are looking for a dense show that will give you more inspiration fuel for self lovin’\, world changin’\, and consideration havin’ meet them where the music is made to be shared.
